How do you balance your chakras? Most people don’t know what the word chakra means, but almost everyone has felt the effects of an imbalanced one. Chakras are important energy centers in your body that can become unbalanced and affect your health, mood, and even your career success. While it may sound like woo-woo nonsense, learning about your chakras and how to keep them balanced can improve your quality of life drastically.
There are seven main chakras that run from the base of your spine to just below your neck. Each is associated with a specific color, mental state, area of your body, and healing properties. While it’s impossible to determine where exactly each energy center begins or ends (just like our arms don’t end at our wrists), most spiritual practitioners believe that when an energy center is out of balance or blocked—or when two centers appear to be in conflict—it can manifest as physical symptoms like headaches, muscle tension, stomach issues, or a general sense of malaise. The first step toward chakra-balancing is identifying what needs work.
Chakra yoga and meditation
The word chakra means wheel in Sanskrit, representing wholeness. The seven main chakras of our body affect every part of our being: spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and more. Chakras move energy throughout your body; when they're out of balance, stress may show up as physical issues like headaches or fatigue. To get centered again, focus on balancing your chakras with meditation and yoga.
Chakras in crystal therapy
Chakras respond to color, so some therapists incorporate crystal healing into their practices. A few crystals used in conjunction with chakra balancing include aquamarine, rhodochrosite, kunzite, and amber. If you choose to incorporate crystals into your routine, we recommend seeking a professional who’s experienced with using crystals for therapeutic purposes.
How to balance your chakras
Chakras are energy centers within your body. If they’re balanced, they’ll allow energy to flow smoothly from one part of your body to another. But if a chakra is out of whack, its effects will show up in different parts of your life (your physical health, for example). Some ways to balance your Chakras are through meditation, sound healing, reconnecting with nature, seeing an Energy Healer, and getting a Chakra Realignment Session.
How to clear your chakras
To clear your chakras, start by closing your eyes. Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly out of your mouth. Be aware of what’s going on inside of you, tuning into any feelings or emotions that may be present. Next, move from heart to root by placing one hand on your chest over your heart center and place one hand below your navel on your sacral (or second) chakra; hold for a few seconds before moving to the next one. While there are hundreds of ways to work with individual chakras, this is just one simple exercise
Chakras are the energetic centers of your Spiritual body and can give you a deep insight into your emotional and spiritual health.
